ATE LOVIA

OLD FITZ THEATRE

Presented by kwento and Red Line Productions

12 May – 4 June 2022

Written by Jordan Shea
Directed by Kenneth Moraleda

Life seems to be looking up for the Ejercito family in 1996, despite a new boom of conservatism spearheaded by John Howard and Pauline Hanson.

Ate Lovia (AH-teh low-VEE-yah) is a Filipino-Australian drama that explores what it means to stay loyal to your family, no matter how brutal it gets.

REVIEWS

"Shea’s writing is astute and passionate, almost rhapsodic with the emotions that it captures."

— Suzy Goes See

"Jordan Shea writes a truthful dialogue, that gives this wonderful team of actors a whole lot to play with. From witty one-liners to vulnerable monologues and some very well placed 90’s references, someone should snavel Jordan Shea up now, because he is brilliant."

— Theatre Travels
